This is kind of a mini post because there's not much detail but I just thought i'd share my current love for neon make-up and nail varnish :)
This is my face & nails as of 10AM this morning.
It's all Barry M, only because that is mostly what I own, it wasn't a conscious effort!
The colours are as follows:
Nails: Acid Yellow (there's a big number (300) and a small number (211) on the bottle in case that matters)
Lips: Liner in number 12 (dunno if they still make this, it's kinda old now) and Lipstick in 145 which is called Punky Pink (as far as i remember, the writing has rubbed off :/)
I have loved this lippy for ages, it was the first colour i bought that wasn't red & although the liner is a lot brighter than the lipstick with a bit of crafty blending it looks awesome :)
The nail varnish looks rubbish here compared to real life, i think it comes out more yellow than it really is in photos. I will say this though, i do a base coat of the Barry M Foil Effects Silver under this because it is not as opaque as it should be and purely by accident i discovered that the silver brought out the neon-ness the most.
I've spent a bucket load on neon nail varnish recently but I don't ever pay more than £5 per pot so i opted for this instead of the American Apparel neons which seem to be raved about everywhere i go. And yeah it was a bummer that it didn't come out perfect but hey ho, that's life. Even the Models Own Neon Blue i got was pretty dissapointing (especially compared to the red and orange which are awesome!).
I don't see my addiction ending any time soon, in fact i want some of that neon UV matte lippy, anyone know where i can score??
What do y'all make of the neon make-up? Or just neon in general? Yay or Nay?
I think we all know my opinion, but don't be scared to disagree :)

Beauty Post: Dark Purple Lips
In my last post I was sporting a pretty awesome (even if i do say so myself) purple lip. This is a really basic post that just mentions the products I used and roughly says how I do it. I don't feel quite confident enough taking pictures of the process of putting it on because A: I'm not a beauty blogger/expert/guru and B: Whilst i do keep to a basic routine when it comes to putting lippy on i'm still trying out new tips and tricks and stuff!
So I start by keeping my lips in generally good condition. I'm prone to sore dry lips in between seasons, when it's generally warming up or cooling down and Carmex is my go to product for everyday use. If i'm gonna wear lippy i apply a small amount of this and give it a while to sink in before carrying on.
Next, i line my lips, I watched a really good MAC video a while back where the artist put lip liner all over the lip and that's something I tend to do whatever colour i'm wearing. I'll always do it with this particular lippy though because it makes the colour a bit more opaque. I love Barry M liners, they're pretty cheap and get the job done well enough!
After i've lined I just slap on the lipstick. Sometimes i use a brush, sometimes not, depends how much time i have. The one in the picture is a GOSH brush that cost 49 pence from superdrug, amazing bargain!! However i'm putting it on, be it with a brush or not, i do one coat and then blot it with a tissue before doing another coat. This lippy is a Rimmel one from the Kate Moss range they have at the moment, it's number 4.
And that's it, done :)
The "optional extras" in the top photo that i haven't mentioned are a sharpener because i think sharp lip liner is very very important and also there is some Benefit Eye Bright which i sometimes put on my Cupid's Bow to highlight it and make my top lip seem a bit fuller because it's kinda skinny compared to the bottom one.
ooohhhh, first Bust My Buttons Beauty Post all done. Aaalllll done.
Hope it wasn't boring and was in some way helpful/entertaining.
:)
Peace!

2012
Well, first things first: Happy New Year!
As over done and cliched as it sounds i can't believe we're in 2012 already! It seems like just yesterday when it was the millennium and my life revolved around hair brades and watching rugrats...
I celebrated in style last night at one of my favourite pubs ever; The Old Firehouse in Exeter. If you're ever in the area pop in and have some delicious and huge stone baked pizza and a bottle of house wine (that between two would cost you £6.45 each, not bad eh!?!?). It was a vintage themed party so i decided to go all 1940's-y for the occasion, i thought there would be some hardcore fancy dress going on but there was only a handful who were obviously seriously committed :)

I absolutely adore getting dressed up, especially when there's some kind of theme that gives me a reason to wear vintage make-up (not that i need a reason, it's just nice to have one!) I managed to pull this outfit together in a 3 hour rush around town on New Year's Eve, the top was a fiver, the shoes were £7 and i already owned the rest.It pissed it down with rain as i left so i ended up wearing flat suede loafer type shoes and a fur coat to avoid turning into a big mess.
Back to talking about New Years. I had a lovely time with beautiful people and i've had a really nice, relaxed day today ao 2012 thus far, is filling 2011's big, BIG shoes quite well, but we are only 24 hours in so i'll try not to get to carried away.
I don't do resolutions but i have decided to keep a diary again for the whole of this year and i'm also doing a project365 to try and encourage some more self taught photography techniques!
I hope you all had an amazing NYE and i wish everyone all the luck and love and joy and peace for 2012, i know i'm excited for whatever it is that's next: Let The Good Times Roll!
