More Christmas

These are just pictures from my phone which I snapped over the few days of Christmas (despite being very busy!). Starting off with Christmas Day Morning, featuring the traditional family brekkie of biscuits and my smashin festive PJ's!

Cooking for everyone this year, as much work as it was, was actually really lovely and made me really appreciate how much my Grandma usually does for everyone. Anyway, here is some food (there was no holly left to decorate the pud).

These last two pictures are just favourites from all the ones I took. The first being my favourite tree decoration and the second being the EPIC den I built.

You can just about see BFF Zeke's face in the last photo. He came to pick me up from my Grandparent's and take me back to Worcester. We've spent the last three days lazing about something chronic. Abusing Netflix and eating far too much. He left this morning to got to Hull for New Years and, well quite frankly I can't believe it's the 31st already.
The days between Christmas and New Year have apparently been non existent!
I'll write a goodbye 2012 post later. Even though I'd rather stay in denial about New Year.

Edinburgh Baby!

I have some amazing friends.
Made evident by the events that led me to have a free 3 days in Edinburgh the other week.

Long Story Short.
If someone* offers you a free lift and 3 paid for nights in a hostel.
Don't turn it down.
Get in their car, get in their car and never look back.

*exceptions - if that someone is unsavoury or shifty lookin', in the words of MJ, do think twice.

Because my trip was so very last minute, despite the Fringe being on i didn't see any theatre. I decided to use my time to chill out. It's not that the last couple months has been manic or anything, quite the opposite, but a bit of time to check in with yo' self is always valuable and lord knows the next couple months will be crazy, so i'm logging in those chill out hours now!

I visited Holyrood Park, strolled around Edinburgh City Centre (a-lot), hit up the National Museum and managed to spend one evening with the friend who took me up there (she was visiting her sister so i was kinda dropped off and left to my own devices mostly).

Our evening out was one of the best i've had in a long time. After meeting up we left to find somewhere to eat and just as we did torrential, crazy ass rain started. Because we were wet and cold we dived into the first good looking restaurant we saw which turned out to be an amazing Italian (after an extensive google session i'm 99% it was The Patio on Hanover St.) and then we headed to Jekyll & Hyde for drinks and some free comedy. The pub is a must see if you're ever in the area, it's a Halloween lovers paradise, you have to go through a book case door to get to the loo! The comedy we saw was hilarious and because i am a walking cliche of a drama student i ended up "on stage", typical!

Anyway, before i get stupidly caught up in sharing every last detail.
I'll stop.

I had an amazing time.
And i fucking love random opportunities.

Dans Ma Chambre

Making sure my room looked and felt home-y and comfortable to be in was my number one priority when i moved to uni. My room at home is my sanctuary and i wanted my space here to be the same. These are a few photos i took yesterday morning when the lovely (albeit a bit late) sunshine was streaming in through my window.
From top to bottom:
Hand carved and hand painted wooden owl (with books behind)
Buddha and my crystals
Some English Civil War Propaganda i made, the frame was originally grey!
Bears, Books and a Bottle of Rum
a pin board that showcases art by the likes of Banksy, Duane Bryers, Me and a 5 year old i babysit.
Bird, Flowers, Sunglasses
Día de los Muertos figurines & make-up
Tea and a re-used soup can (high five for recycling)

In Pictures...

Sunday 17th July 2011 -

1 - Waking up after a long sleep is always good, even if it is grey outside.
2 - My tea collection.
3 - Tea & Cigarettes.
4 - My favourite bread for toasting.
5 - Toast!
6 - My two cats, apparently they were thirsty.
7 - Conditioning the hell out of my hair.
8 - My new bag from ASOS.
9 and 10 - Rose Incense, it smells so amazing i can't actually stop burning it.
11 - The ultimate lazy weekend clothes: Leggings and a Basketball Jersey.
12 and 13 - A sample of my soundtrack.

I have had an absolutely beautiful, chilled out, mellow, lovely weekend! I was meant to be going away but decided against it in favour of relaxing and spending time with some pretty awesome people.
Today however was purely self indulgent me time. I got up late, strolled about the house in my undies, had a shower, listened to music with the volume all the way up and just did a whole ton of generally amazing things.
Does anyone else just absolutely love weekends or days like that? Where you just forget all responsibility and do completely your own thing?
I love it. It definitely topped off my weekend perfectly.
Get up to anything interesting this weekend? If so, i want to hear all about it, please : )

++ LDN (part two)

This post covers the day it's self, everything that went on etc. etc.

I planned on getting off the train and walking to Evans for the meeting up but due to my delay, i got the tube (£6-ish for a day ticket seemed like quite a smack in the face but i did use it a whole lot!)
I was totally hit by a wave of nerves upon seeing the shop and a tiny part of me thought, fuck it, just go shopping in London alone for the day, i am so glad i did not listen!
I could be here for hours going into details about meeting all the bloggers so i'm going to genuinely say right now that everyone was lovely.
I didn't chat to tons of people but i made sure to smile at every single person i saw so i didn't look like a right mardy cow!

During the day we all just hit up various shops and tings. I broke off with Theresa, which sounds like a cop out because i've known her forever, but we only see each other like 3 times a year, so i had to take advantage! I spent practically all of my money getting to London (i had to buy a railcard because i have a few other train journeys coming up) so i only spent £19 on two pairs of sunnies from Primark and a Mac Liquidlast that i was gonna buy online anyways, so yeah i don't really have an awesome purchases post lined up, but i do have pictures:

Woaahhh, a whole two pictures! I know it sucks but i got wrapped up in everything and forgot i owned a camera.
Lucky for you by the evening I'd adjusted enough to function properly as a picture taking machine!

It was a really amazing evening and i spent my time either laughing, talking, eating, drinking or looking at clothes and those are like 5 of my top 10 favourite things to do so yeah; good times!

I'm going to do two more posts on the meet. Not just to make the material last longer but also because it seemed logical to do it this way : )
The next one will detail my thoughts on the sponsors and previews of the event!
