Winter Wishlist Vol. 1

Jumpers & Sweatshirts

I'm gonna do a few of these wish lists. Kinda inspired by my Grandma (good old Patricia) because she called me up a couple of days ago to ask what I wanted for Christmas, and so it got me thinking.

It would seem this volume is sponsored by the ASOS menswear department but au contraire, it is not. I tend to much prefer the fit of men's jumpers to women's. I have broad shoulders, fairly small boobs (compared to the rest of me) and I have a long torso so they feel comfier. I do run into the problem that my hips are too wide, because men's jumpers can sometimes be cut so they narrow towards the bottom, but apart from that, it's usually pretty awesome. Also, have you noticed that menswear jumpers always have nicer patterns?? Not fair.

I tried really hard to find some cardigans, from womenswear departments outside ASOS, but alas, I could find none. Often I get that kind of thing when I go physically shopping as opposed to virtually shopping because then I can not worry about shape and fit which are two things I am very picky over.

Any favourite jumpers that you really want? Or maybe you think one shop is slaying the winter gear this season??

Can y'all tell i was at my grandma's, when i took these, does the brown 70's carpet give it away? :)

Bought this jumper a few weeks back, i stumbled across it looking for a large size in a different jumper. It's not something i;d normally buy, i'd admire it; but never actually get it! As a few people have hastened to tell me: this is not the most flattering of jumpers, but quite frankly, i don't give a flying fuck! I've had equally as many compliments on it and one of the girls on my course at uni even nicknamed it the Andy Warhol Jumper, apparently it reminds her of pop art which i think is pretty darn cool.

P.S.

I do own other shoes aside from my docs but A: The "these are new i want to wear then all the time" hasn't worn off and B: I took a very limited but practical selection to Grandmother's for xmas!

Christmas Eve

Managed to pursaude Dad to take some photos of me in Grandma's garden whilst we were out having a ciggie. Guess being the only 2 smokers in the family has it's perks! I've tried to relax since arriving here yesterday but i'm itching to get my uni. work done even though i can easily get it done post the xmas carngae! I'm getting impatient for presents tooo, wich doesn't exactly make it easy to switch off  :)

Another easy and cosy winter outfit. I bloody love this cardigan, H&M certainly has it;s moments of pure genius. It's so very colourful that i amost always wear it with all black but i'm living out of a very full suitcase here and my truly black jeans didn't make it although two paris of dark blue did!

We're having roast number one tonight consitsing of gammon (we have 3 every christmas: from xmas eve to boxing day, me and my grandma are cooking machines!) and after that it'll be films in front of the very small telly and then sleep. One More Sleep!!!!!

CARDI:PRIMARK LEGGINGS:NEW LOOK DRESS:ASOS CURVE BOOTS:EVANS

It's getting colder and colder here by the day. We kept having these random days of beautiful sunshine every week, where it was t-shirt/sunglasses weather but now, not so much. And i'm finding it really hard to get used to always wearing a coat, i keep leaving the house and freezing on the 5 minute walk to lectures! So i guess the point is that today i once again turned to the burgundy cardi because it's good for layering and warmth! I also really liked the contrast of textures between the knit and the lace of the dress, which you can't really see in the photos because the light was fading fast when we took them.

I'm pretty sure shit is about to hit the fan in terms of work, i have 4 practical assessments coming up and lots to do. Plus 4 essays and some extra curricular shizz. In fact right now i should be writing a ten minute monologue not a blog post, but due to not really having great sense with priorities, here i am. I'm trying to say that it may get quiet in terms of posting and posts that do get done will be short and sweet. But then i get xmas holidays and i'll bombard you all :)

Home Time

For the first time since i moved up here about 7 weeks ago i am going home to beautiful, lovely Devon AKA The Shire.
I'm very excited to have 5 days in very comfortable surroundings and i'm even more excited to spend a huge amout of time with my Dad : D and of course my greatly missed friends too!

Thought i'd do a little OOTD today and drafted my flatmate in for help taking the photos (TIP: don't mention you did photography A-Level to a blogger who's having issues taking self portraits, you will become an unpaid member of staff) It was proper grey and raining so we only took a few but i'm pretty happy all the same.

I have pretty much lived in this cardigan since buying it, it's so easy to wear in a million different ways, i just can't help myself. The booots are new too, at £15 they were quite the bargain and i'm pretty happy that Primark has started doing wide fitting size 9 shoes! I Made these earrings years ago out of two shell necklaces from Tesco and i tend to wear them a lot when i have my hair up.

I'm gonna aim to do an OOTD every day until Friday whilst i'm back at home with my lovely spacious room and blank walls and i'll either post as i do them or leave it til next week.

Better Late

Than Never!

I guess that applies to this post and also to the wintry weather we've been getting. After a good solid week of sunshine at the start of the month it is now fuurrr-eeezze-ing, queue shopping trip for knitwear and coats and of course a cheeky chai latte, i'm clearly settling into my new life well :)

So this cardi was a purchase on my recent shopping trip! Apart from the fact it is 100% acrylic it's pretty perfect and i have to admit i was SRSLY impressed at Primark's autumn/winter stuff. I managed to nab a wool mix blanket coat for £10 in the sale and i love it, can't wait to post about it!

Anyyne else noticed how awsome it is at the moment, or maybe you're hating it?

Taking OOTD pictures in my flat kitchen was a slightly awkward experience for me but i just do not have the space for full body shots in my room so it was necessary. Getting back into the swing of this is undoubtedly going to be a challenge but it's one I'm ready to take on; mercilessly :)

N - N - N - KNITWEAR!


Now that leaves are on the ground (I've seen three so far) and a duvet is back on my bed i feel autumn//winter fast approaching.
Nothing, nothing, beats knitwear for me when it comes to the colder months. Except maybe a killer pair of boots or the hypnotic lure of an open fire and a convenient bag of marshmallows or snow.
Okay. so i like a lot of stuff that comes with the lower temperatures, but this post is dedicated to knitwear.
Specifically: Cardigans.
Even more specifically: ASOS Curve Cardigans.

They really are churning out some awesome woollies right now.

It's safe to say i am a cardigan lover.

I do love me a good jumper too. I just haven't been inspired by any i have seen.
I'm still looking for my ultimate jumper.
It's soft and chunky but loose knit so it has a grunge vibe. Man made fabrics are no-no, regardless of how convincingly woolly they appear to feel. The sleeves are a bit too long, body a bit too baggy and just long enough to cover Mon Derrière.
When i find this jumper I'll celebrate by spending a morning alone in the house wearing my new knitted friend with noting but these and some sheepskin slippers. Dancing, no, flailing wildly to Florence and The Machine or Kate Bush. Then reading and drinking tea with my cat Captain Kidd and finally enjoying some crumpets whilst sat on the windowsill watching the wind bust my garden to pieces.

What do you guys think to my little jumper dream, do you have similar visions of celebrating the ultimate knitwear find? Or do you find knitwear boring and overrated?
I know some people who hate cardigans, how and why i have no idea, but they do.
