The Style369 Edition.
This e-store still has a ways to go as far as i'm concerned. I wanted big girl's Topshop, thus far I'm getting Evans with a Hint of Big Girl's Market Stall and the occasional beautiful product mashed in.
I'm not wildly disappointed, yet.
On to the good shit.
Is there anything you guys really like from this website? And do you feel similar to me about the range of things they're selling?
On a side note i am far less rushed and panic-y than i was and have done a whole load of uni application stuff hence why i had the time to research and create this little post : )

ASOS CURVE LOVE.
And on the month i really need to save money. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
DRESSES:
The blue one reminds me of my other similarly coloured ASOS Curve dress but i'm loving the different sleeves. The black showcases my love for texture if i'm working an all black thing.
TOPS:
I have a strange thing for hook and eye fastenings. I think it's to do with my love for corsets where you often see them. I also like the blue version of this'un.
TROUSERS:
There was a Musings of a Fatshionista Facebook post on the top pair. Agreeing with the post i wish they came in black; aside from that the cut and fabric are on point. I've posted on the bottom pair before, not a lot of love for these but now i've seen them on real people, other bloggers in fact, i'm so in love it hurts, i spy another frugal month.
MISC:
Old. School. Glam. Nothing else to say.
I'm not sure what the obsession with shiny fabric is about, it's not like it tends to be hugely flattering (i want to eject this word from my style consciousness, and I'm trying, but stick with me) but i have to admit i think the strong studio lighting used in these shots amplifies the shiny a whole lot. And also, when you look at the construction and style of the garments i think shiny is becoming something i'm much less afraid of.
ASOS Curve has given me so much already, and now it's curing my shineaphobia. I'm rather grateful for this online gem of a store.

Everything featured is from Evans.
Not to put a downer on the post but i do wish that coat was made of wool. Then it would be as close to pefect as i'll ever get.

N - N - N - KNITWEAR!
Now that leaves are on the ground (I've seen three so far) and a duvet is back on my bed i feel autumn//winter fast approaching.
Nothing, nothing, beats knitwear for me when it comes to the colder months. Except maybe a killer pair of boots or the hypnotic lure of an open fire and a convenient bag of marshmallows or snow.
Okay. so i like a lot of stuff that comes with the lower temperatures, but this post is dedicated to knitwear.
Specifically: Cardigans.
Even more specifically: ASOS Curve Cardigans.
They really are churning out some awesome woollies right now.
It's safe to say i am a cardigan lover.
I do love me a good jumper too. I just haven't been inspired by any i have seen.
I'm still looking for my ultimate jumper.
It's soft and chunky but loose knit so it has a grunge vibe. Man made fabrics are no-no, regardless of how convincingly woolly they appear to feel. The sleeves are a bit too long, body a bit too baggy and just long enough to cover Mon Derrière.
When i find this jumper I'll celebrate by spending a morning alone in the house wearing my new knitted friend with noting but these and some sheepskin slippers. Dancing, no, flailing wildly to Florence and The Machine or Kate Bush. Then reading and drinking tea with my cat Captain Kidd and finally enjoying some crumpets whilst sat on the windowsill watching the wind bust my garden to pieces.
: D
What do you guys think to my little jumper dream, do you have similar visions of celebrating the ultimate knitwear find? Or do you find knitwear boring and overrated?
I know some people who hate cardigans, how and why i have no idea, but they do.
Peace & Love.

The Coats Edition.
First up I'd like to champion Burberry Prorsum and Christoper Bailey for the amazing outerwear they churn out all the time. I know that is how Burberry started and it's awesome to see a design house nodding to their roots whilst also managing to stay ingenuitive and current season after season.
Not that the opinion of a Overexcited Fat British Girl matters that much but i admire it : )
Photo Credz to style.com. Top 3 pictures are Fall 2010, bottom one is Resort 2011, all Burberry Prorsum.
I've been looking, searching, scouring for the perfect coat for a while now. I have my old faithful, a black Evans knee length duffel with faux fur trim on the hood but she's old now (it was bought in 2003/2004) and isn't something i enjoy wearing anymore. It does the job but it isn't me. Know what a i mean??
WARNING, I AM ABOUT TO TURN INTO COAT-ZILLA, IT'S LIKE BRIDE-ZILLA BUT WORSE
What i really want is a military style, black, wool or wool mix coat. Tailored with a belt, like a mac. If there is no belt I'd like to be able to put one with it. Big collar, maybe even double breasted and if i can get a hood too that'd make my year. Good quality is a must, i want this baby to last, and no skimping on details (i thought I'd found the coat last year but some wisecrack at Evans decided plastic buttons painted to look metallic was a good idea!) Pockets are non-negotiable, i can't be reaching in and out of my bag for i-pod/lighter/phone all the time. Did i mention it has to be black? If some kind of fur/sheepskin detail has been added somewhere (collar/cuff/hood) this could work and if it does it would make me smile the biggest smile ever seen on a human face. Finally, i need this coat to fit like a dream, i want structure but movement and the option of being able to put on at least one thick jumper underneath. It should pinch in at the right place and flare out at the right place creating the oh so desirable Femme Fatale in a Film Noir silhouette I've been lusting over for too long.
IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK? WELL, I'LL BE HONEST
NO.
This is a good start Evans. But I'm afraid it's a case of close, but no cigar.
I know my demands are unlikely to be met. But i do have to say that as much as i appreciate Evans and what they do in terms of relatively affordable plus sized fashion, the coats up until now have been fairly uninspiring. That being said, the future looks bright and if the coats I've seen for the upcoming season make it to stores i will be making at least one purchase, it just won't tick all the boxes in one go.
What is your dream coat? Do you own it already? Or are you, like me, still searching?
I feel like a coat is an investment. As nice as it would be to buy all the coats and jackets i like, it;s not practical or economical. I don't have the room and they wouldn't get worn often enough. The best option is to own one coat that does everything, goes with everything, and lasts for ever, but finding that is, thus far, impossible. And to be honest that is probably what has created the coat monster within me. So: it's not my fault!!
Peace.

V.S.
Both from Evans both £35 both amazing!
I will be buying the second pair, this week because they're perfect for a costume I'm putting together.
The top pair are the boots I've been looking for for a while but i want them in black so I'm holding out to see if they do a black version!
I'll hate Evans for weeks at a time for not having the shoes i want, and then i hate them even more for bringing out all the shoes i want at once!
Peace Out.

V.S.
V.S. stands for Veruca Salt (there's a link for people who think that's a medical treatment : D)
Whenever i want something i say "I'm pulling a Veruca Salt!"
I, of course, don't have a physical tantrum and screaming fit but in my head i stomp my feet quite a bit.
So basically a V.S. is a want list or wish list.
Anyway, this is my New Look Inspire V.S.
DON'T CARE HOW, I WANT IT NOW!

SKIRT:NEW LOOK INSPIRE

SKIRT:NEW LOOK INSPIRE

COAT:NEW LOOK INSPIRE
I'm now off for a BIG cup of Lady Grey Tea.
Peace & Love from; Morgaine.xxx
