Rings Rings Rings

RINGS:PRIMARK

The thinner ones are from a multi-pack but that chunky bad man was a 50p bargain I picked up whilst waiting to pay! I love it so much I may have to have a silver version made when I can afford it. Yeah, that's gonna have to happen.

moon in the water

NECKLACE:CRYSTALS BELT:GIFT

This is just a mini post with some details for an outfit I wore a couple weeks back. I love moonstone and this necklace is especially pretty, the photo doesn't do it justice.

I've been performing for one of my modules of late (hello second biggest part in the play!) on top of doing the farewell for xmas rounds so basically, it's been a bit manic. I'm at home in Exeter now, sans tripod and 99% of my clothes so as soon as I'm at Grandma's with more luggage and equipment I'm gonna post more often.
Apologies for the absence, if you even noticed it :)

To cover me for the next couple of days i'm going to schedule some random picture posts from nights out where I managed to capture an outfit, or most of one anyway!

Hope everyone is having a good run up to Christmas and if you've already celebrated some or all of your winter festivities then I hope they were brilliant too <3

beauty post: necklace nails

As i was getting dressed i remembered the bargain £1 necklace i bought in Edinburgh and decided to wear it.

Then i decided to match my nails to it, because that's what all the cool kids do these days...

I used Rimmel 60 Seconds in 805 Grey Matter as my base as i already had it on. Then I taped off sections and used Rimmel 60 Seconds in 825 Sky High, Barry M 308 Berry Ice Cream, Barry M 320 Foil (gold) and Barry M 300 Acid Yellow to make triangle-y shapes.
It was super easy and came out pretty neat!
I'll be bored of it by tomorrow but if i was in a more committing mood I'd slap a top coat over it all to keep it fresh for a couple days :)

Get Rhythm

TOP:EVANS VEST:H&M SHOES&GLASSES:PRIMARK JACKET:DOROTHY PERKINS BAG:ASOS

All i can think is WTF are my feet doing??? I'm sure no one would have noticed if i'd kept quiet but SRSLY? They look mad crazy.
I've spent my weekend shopping for a Robin Hood costume, eating Doritos and listening to Johnny Cash. This was a perfect combination of warmth and comfort. I should have worn boots though, hello blue ankles! I double up on bottoms right now, today was one pair of primark super cosy footless tights underneath new look leggings. I still haven't found the best place to buy decent opaque leggings, all mine are quite see through/bad quality. Any suggestions? I hear American Apparel are good but it seems expensive...

Forgot to mention that i am super excited to be seeing loads of Fatshion Feb posts on Tumblr. For inspiration and heaps cool ladies see here LINKYLINKLINK.

Details

Went to a friend's gig last night. Hadn't had my eardrums torn to shreds by live hardcore in a while and plus my beautiful friend Lauren was there so i got to say farewell to her.
Put together what i thought was a crackin' outfit but i've packed my tripod so decided to focus on detail shots of a few things.

I'm so i love with the skull and axes earring. I found it with some beads and buttons; turns out it used to be my dad's! From back in his biker/rocker/punk days. The rest of of the ear stuff is fairly standard and for those interested i'm wearing a Doroth Perkins dress and an Evil Twin shirt from ASOS.

In other news i am all packed up and ready to move into my new room at uni tomorrow. Just have to pack away this beast of a laptop and i'm done. Tonight i'm off to my Grandparent's house which is pretty much the halfway point distance wise, we're going out for a meal to celebrate a couple of birthdays and my move into higher education and hopefully doing something worthwhile with my life :)
I'll probably be offline for a couple of days whilst i settle in but should be back in full force by the middle of next week.
Wish me luck 'all!

Hand Candy

Everything apart from the turquoise is from Silver Lion Jewellers in Exeter.
Pinky is kitted out with bling from Silverworks in Seattle.

Nails are wearing Barry M 290 Spring Green, with a top coat of Seche Vite.

I'm seeing Chase and Status tonight, alone, in Seattle. I am equal parts nerves and excitement.

Accessories Sunday No. 3

So what I've decided to do this week is show some of my favourite pieces of jewellery. They are all sterling silver and/or semi precious stones.
I don't completely ignore high street jewellery and i do own a few things but i do pretty much live in silver.
All of my stud earrings are silver and the majority of my rings and necklaces are.
I think sterling silver is an affordable luxury. It's not hugely expensive, it's beautiful and it's a pleasure to know that your necklace won't turn green or leave a massive mark on your skin.
Plus silver jewellery goes with almost everything so it's a faithful ally.

I bought this ring in Glastonbury when me and dad went Christmas//Solstice shopping there. Some of the best silver shops ever are in that town!

This pendant was a present from my friend, she had been given it but said it didn't suit her so passed it on to me. I can't remember what stone it is but the colour is beautiful.

I bought this because of the shell in it, i loved that big black line running right across, it gets worn a lot!

This is the necklace i wear the most. I clipped two chains together to make it longer. The W stands for Wilkinson, my last name, it reminds me of my family whenever i look at it. The ring is Indian silver and i loved the detail on it but it's tiny so i wear it on this necklace. The box was something i picked up in a tiny little shop in Exeter and i dunno, i just thought it was cute and a slightly different piece of peace symbol jewellery.

This pendant was my grandmother's. I wrote about it in this outfit post.

My dad bought me this pendant. It's green amethyst and it means a lot to me. I don't wear it a huge amount but it's still a favourite.

A couple of things I'd like to get are a turquoise and silver ring, a long silver chain and two charms: an acorn and a thimble.
The acorn and thimble thing is a reference to Peter Pan which is one of my favourite books.

A lot of the jewellery i own is very personal and special to me, i think i choose things that reflect my personality like i do with clothes.
I adore vintage, especially brooches. And i love charms, silver charms, I'm like a magpie for them.
I love big statement stuff for dressing up. It makes me feel like a pirate who's raided the treasure : )
But i do wear smaller things when I'm feeling like a more casual pirate!

I very rarely wear gold. Number one i think cheap gold jewellery is the worst for going green and number two i just don't like gold. If the outfit calls for it i have some stuff i might wear but normally it's silver or nothing.
Do you guys prefer silver or gold? Or are you a lover of both?

The other thing i wanted to cover quickly was size. Being a large person, i have large fingers and so have to have a lot of the rings i buy sized up to fit. I find that clothes store jewellery lines run quite small size wise, especially rings and bracelets. Does anyone else have issues finding stuff that fits?

Until next time.
