Happy Song

First day back at Uni after a few weeks break and it's an odd but good feeling. I feel a bit out of the swing of things and I've missed people a lot but I'm excited. All my modules are ace this semester and I'm just ready to bring my A game and learn, cos learning is fucking cool.

 TOP&SKIRT:ASOS SHOES:CONVERSE CARDIGAN:EVANS

The whole below the knee skirt thing is a bit weird for me but I'm loving it with my new chuck t's (thank-you 25% student discount at ASOS!!) It's really sunny today so I've dressed like it's warm but I bet outside is actually going to be awful and I'll have to cover this up with a huge coat. Ugghh.

I just thought i'd share a few uni night out outfits. The pictures are fairly typical university night out pictures and i'm not trying to be all like "ooooh look at me and all my alcohol/ciggies/awesomeness" but that is a part of my lifestyle so, yeah, hope no one is too offended :)

It's all coming to a close here now, lots of people have finished everything and moved out, i can hear suitcase wheels outside my window as we speak! I however still have two assessments, so no 3 week end of freshers binges for me! I get home on June 10th but i have no idea what i am doing with my summer yet. I've applied for a lot of residential jobs working with kids so i could be living anywhere, wish me luck with those pleeaassseeee :)

I am dreadfully sorry posts have been so sparse but it has been quite difficult, much more so than i anticipated, to keep this little gem updated. I'm going to work harder at it over the summer, time allowing, and hopefully maintain a once a week ritual next uni year :)

I hope all readers are well and happy and beautiful and things. Big Love <3

Walking The Dog

TOP:DOROTHY PERKINS SKIRT:NEW LOOK CARDI:EVANS SHOES:VANS BELT:GIFT

He's not my dog, but if the sun is out and the bestie says "Wanna walk John?" i never say no :)

This skirt is one f the bargains i found on Sunday, £5 as far as i'm concerned is pretty dang fine. Plus it has pastel colours in the print so helps me stay bang on trend (not that trends really bother me but i do like the pastels thing).
My hair is doing some cray stuff in these photos, not sure what is going on to be honest but never mind, i only noticed once i got in the car to go the pub so i was wandering around all afternoon looking rather silly! I had such a lovely day though, just sunshine and beautiful places with one awesome person. It is good to be home!

On a random but not so random note, i got these Vans at least 5 years ago and they're starting to fall apart. I know they're super popular now but i was wondering if anyone knew whether the quality is the same? Any long term Vans Fans out there? I just don't want to splash the cash to be disappointed. Answers on postcards :)

Stormy Weather

TOP:FOREVER 21 SKIRT:PRIMARK HAT:ACCESSORIZE BELT:MARKET

This is my "summer on the bottom, winter up top" outfit. It's sunny but freezing so i consider it appropriate! I bought this hat in the sale yesterday, i'd not seen anyone wearing it before and then on the way home i saw 2 people wearing it, or one very similar, typical!
I don't have a very exciting day planned, i need to do laundry and take a photo for my project365 and then all that's left is packing for the re-enactment weekend ahead.
Because i have all this free time i am reading once again. This time it is Memoirs of a Geisha. Then i have 3 other books on the "To Read" pile and by the time i'm done i figure my semester 2 exams will have started, so i'm set really :)

Today Billie Holiday influenced the post title. Buuuut, i think i still love Etta James' version of Stormy Weather a little better...
I think.

Pony Up

SHIRT:NEW LOOK SKIRT AND VEST:H&M TIGHTS:TESCO

I have spent the last week solidly wearing PJ's or joggers and tees. It's the curse of essay writing, you don't need to get dressed for it.
Today though, i actually had to get dressed, for my sanity.
I know this is basic and the photo quality isn't great but i love this shirt and i wanted to post so, yeah. Justification: done.

Due to money but also feeling quite uninspired i have bought barely any clothes recently. Has anyone seen anything amazing (and preferably cheap) anywhere? I just feel kinda bored by what i see. It's time like this when i resent being bigger because there's tons of stuff in straight sizes i like, but nothing my size is screaming at me.
Oh BOOO HOOOO!
Guess i should be grateful really, less clothes = less debt :)

Take Care

TOP:DOROTHY PERKINS GREY VEST:PRIMARK SKIRT&HOODY:H&M SOCKS:MARKET BOOTS:DR MARTEN

So this is the kinda number i feel most comfortable in at the moment. It's easy to put together, easy to wear and super easy to dress up/down. Today i went for the edgy//girly//comfy thing. The weather is still uber mild so i can get away with thin tights and just chucking my leather jacket on top, which is madness considering this time last year i was wearing 4 layers as standard and still turning blue on my walk to work because it was -12C!!!!!
These boots might be the best investment i've made in a long while, i 'aint really taken them off since getting them and i thoroughly recommend that we all own a pair :) I got mine from cloggs.com, who aren't paying me to say that.... they're the most awesomest shop evaaaa. The have great offers, competitive pricing and if you buy shoes from them they send you 20% off codes all the dang time, so if you're a bit of a shoe-a-holic then go to them, or don't, but definitely do.

It's technically Winter Solstice right now but i'll post on that properly tomorrow, or y'know later today :) #latenightbloggingforthewin
GOODNIGHT!

P.S.

Take Care by Drake Feat. Rihanna is by far my favourtie song right now, hence the post title :D

Skirt & Scarf

TOP:DOROTHY PERKINS SKIRT:NEW LOOK SCARF:ZARA BELT:MARKET STALL

Forgive the SHITTY quality of the photo, my lighting is non existent when the sun is tucked behind mammoth rain clouds, i really should invest in a big ass lamp. Oh, and excuse my face, i was just uncomfortable in front of my camera today, too long an absence i guess.
I've neglected my scarf collection this year, i have tons of them and it was always my thing. I was never seen scarf-less, ever, seriously, it was bordering on addiction.
I really need to take a close up of this belt at some point, it's real leather that i bought from a bonafide leather worker and it's beautifully embossed!

I've got a pretty busy couple days ahead of me (so glad i slept a lot this weekend, cos i ain't getting it now!) but on Wednesday i'm having a stupidly girly night in with a friend, she thinks i was kidding about underwear clad pillow fights and i really wasn't : ) We're gonna talk about boys and their cooties whilst listening to show tunes and painting our nails and the point of me saying this is that i will take pictures to post on Thursday so see y'all then!

Don't Drink Kids

Your OOTD's will come out all blurry.

SKIRT:NEW LOOK JACKET:DOROTHY PERKINS TOP,SHOES&TIGHTS:EVANS

Basically i ran out of time before going out so i tried really hard to take pictures when i got home. My camera wouldn't focus which might have been the light or it might have been the wine...
I decided to post the pictures anyway because you'll see this stuff (in focus) in other OOTD's and also because it thought it was funny. I'm pretty down with making my blog as authentic as possible and doing silly things like the above is pretty standard practice for me after i get in from drinking.
I've re-organised my wardrobe in a drunken stupor before, i've painted, i've written christmas cards and i've eaten jam straight out the jar with a spoon.
That's just how i roll...

NEED

SKIRT - £45 - ASOS CURVE

Oh ASOS, you tease!
I am positively bereft of money right now and you put out this! That's just mean.

I actually saw a grey jersey version of this in Primark the other day, i was tempted by it but decided against due to it not being black and it not being long enough - i like my maxi's to be floor length, i actually don't mind if they drag a bit, just so long as they don't trip me up : )

As much as i love this my only issue is how to style it. This is where not being able to try it on in a shop really bums me out. I'm not 100% sure i'd like the whole wear it high waisted and tuck your top in look on myself so i'd want to check i could comfortably wear it other ways before blowing the dollar on it, y'know?
I'm all for Internet shopping and i have a long and beautiful relationship with Internet shopping, but sometimes i just wish it could do what the high st shops can!

OOTD: Featured

So i was asked to send in pictures to Plus Model Magazine for their blog feature Fashion Fridays, you can see this weeks including me HERE.
This is the outfit i sent in:

TOP:NEW LOOK INSPIRE SKIRT:TOPSHOP TIGHTS:TESCO SHOES:EVANS

This is a variation of the outfit i have been living in of late. Considering it cost £15 in the Topshop sale and in technically about 3 or 4 sizes too small this skirt is doing a seriously good job : )
I actually wore this on Wednesday to see The Hangover Part II which was hilarious and amazing, although there are rumours of number 3 already and whilst i do love the wolf pack three films based solely upon drunken mistakes might be pushing it a bit!

I'm off for the weekend to reenact and be awesome so no posts i'm afraid. Straight back at it on Monday though i promise!
Thanks to Natale Monet from Plus Model Magazine for asking me to be involved in the feature, such a huge honour and i'm eternally grateful.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

OOTD: 'suup from seattle

i wanted so desperately to alliterate and this is all i had, are there any other greetings that begin with an s? i don't think so!

Anyway; moving on.
I'm holidaying alone so i don't feel hugely pressured to pull out my best garbs, however, i went to the aquarium today and i wanted to look nice for the sealife : )

TOP:DOROTHY PERKINS TIGHTS:TESCO SKIRT:H&M BELT:GIFTED CARDI:EVANS

Apologies for the bin that is in shot, i was too busy trying to find a good place to set up my gorillapod and camera that i didn't notice it.
This is pretty simple and i've worn it all before, but never in this country! I'm really glad i brought thie skirt with me, mostly because it's the only thing i have to wear with all the tops i brought (i'm on the hunt for good jeans, suggestions on where to find them are welcomed!) but also because it's very comfy and easy to wear with a whole shitload of things : D
The weather here right now is a bit all over the place so i'm grateful for me nice warm tights. It's sunny but cold now, it rained earlier, it hailed yesterday, the weather forecast never quite gets it right and if it wasn't for the coffee shops on every corner that i dive into then i'd freeze walking 5 blocks down the street.
(lol wut, i just said blocks!)

Just in case anyone wants to know,  the colour i have on my nails is Barry M 262 Bright Red (i loved how this was an example item for things that need to go in a clear zip lock bag at the heathrow security checks)
It's pretty sweet and goes nicely with the Barry M red lipstick.
