All Work & No Play

Well, Christmas and New Year lulled me into a false sense of security RE work and uni and deadlines. And now here I am, fresh from a full days research in the library eating crisps and soup for tea and wrapping up in more layers than you can shake a stick at (I am poor and heating is expensive, creys).

I have two weeks off between semesters after this week and my plan consists of a lot of sleep, gaming as a way to stay in touch with the BFF in Exeter (also, I am an out and proud nerd). But most importantly, i plan on giving the ol' blog some new vizualzzz and chucking together a few posts.

Don't get too excited guys, no need for balloons or cake or anything.

Actually, cake would be nice.

Merry XMas

This is me, right now, ASOS Playsuit and White Wine :) It might be Boxing Day but I'm still on duty: SO MUCH COOKING! (We have 4 straight days of roast dinners!). I've been snapping away on Instagram if you fancy having a gander and as of the 28th i'm back to regular life in Worcester so shall resume posting properly.

Christmas has come around so quickly this year and has passed with just as much haste, it's a shame but I've had a lovely time and hope you all have too!!!

New Shirt

 

I think i fell in love with this top the second it went up on ASOS Curve. It's now in the sale which is a bit lame but i got it with 25% off when they did the crazy big student discount for a couple days so maybe not sooo lame. I might have also bought myself a Clarisonic Mia and a new bag... Maybe :)
I'll probably do a post about the Clarisonic once i have used it for a few weeks because, well because i can and also because my two cents on the matter won't do any harm!

I am back at home for Easter now so hopefully between writing an essay and brainstorming ideas for a performance i can whack out a few OOTD's up against my lovely white bedroom walls <3
I went shopping tday just for the hell of it and picked up a couple of sale bargains that i want to share so yeahhh, look out for posts ASAP!!!

It's been a hectic week! Between Welcome Week Lectures and Socialising i've barely had time to wash or eat or even call home.
It has been amazing though and i'm glad to report that i am now extremely settled into my halls with 5 lovely flat mates. Today was my first proper day of lectures and i only had one this morning so quite easy really.
Still feels very much like a holiday.

My room here is piss tiny and quite dark so lord knows how i'm gonna do outfit posts but i will find a way! I will! I must!
Any ideas on how to tackle the space issue are welcome, like if you blogged/are blogging at uni and had the same problem, y'know, help me, please.

I've missed this quite a bit, i mean i've been reading all my blogs as much as possible but i have really missed writing and documenting my crazy life : )

0 to 60

okay so my life has gone from very quiet and normally quite boring to OHMYFUCKIHAVENOTIMEFORANYTHING.

I just got back from my weekend away (amazing time was had!!) and now i have 12 hours before i'm off away again for another weekend of camping and pretending i'm a person from the 1640's.
Then when i get back i have 5 days at home before another weekend away which i MUST spend making things and packing for uni.
Oh yeah, UNIVERSITY, i move there in all of two bloody weeks!

I'm having more fun than you can shake a stick at but blimey, i'm a bit stressed. I guess i just wanted to say i haven't forgotten about my commitment to posting very narcissistic pictures of myself and talking about all my fashunz and normal service will resume soon. My monthly roundup post will come a few days late but hopefully jam-friggin-packed full of pictures and words : )

Tonsillitis

So after a day and a bit of feeling worse than i have ever felt in my whole life (i am very rarely ill beyond a long cold or cough) i took the day off work and dragged my achey self to the Doctor. Turns out i have Tonsillitis which for the record, sucks!
I'm on antibiotics and bed rest and the doctor told me i had a "very impressive fever". Turns out that when i do get sick, i get really sick!
So i guess the point is that things will be quiet on the outfit front, mostly because A) i am in no fit state to be in front of a camera and B) i'm pretty much just gonna live in my PJ's until i go back to work.
Hopefully though i might do some other posts where i dont need to post pictures of myself!

If any of you out there have had tonsillitis before i just want to say; well done for surviving. If the symptoms don't kill me then the next few days stuck in the house will!

I Must...

...Make My Excuses and not Properly Blog until Monday.

I haven't had a weekend that was entirely free for months and so today i made the important, self preserving decision to spend the weekend doing only the things i wanted to do that i hadn't done in a long time due to not having the space in my schedule.
That's not to say i don't want to blog, it's just that i have been pretty consistent at keeping it updated so one weekend with zero postage isn't a biggie.

Basically i'm going to spend the next two days not wearing make-up and probably not wearing proper clothes.
I'm going to enjoy some good wine and cook some good food.
I'm going to smother my face in an assortment of all natural home made face masks.
I'm going to sleep, without setting alarms.
I'm going to watch films and read books and not partake in too much facebook.
I'm going to bake, and i mean BAKE. I'm talking bread, cakes, biscuits, rolls, buns. The Whole Shebang (and i'm going to send my dad out to buy the ingredients!)
and finally I, Morgaine Elizabeth Wilkinson, am going to paint for the first time in way, waayyy too long!


Sometimes it's okay to be selfish & it turns out hella better for everyone if you are.x

General Update

I have been quite busy of late, in a very lovely way.
I've had a proper social life which has been amazing and made me feel well popular! It's quite silly that i have so many good friends locally who i never seem to see but we have all  started to make a real effort to spend quality time with each other, last week alone i had home cooked dinner with one friend, a baking night with four other ladies and a quick visit to one of my girlies (that turned into 8 hours of talking and Wii playing plus a yummy pork chop dinner).
Add to that the extra work hours i took to save major $$ for the Devonshire Girl in Seattle trip and you're left with a very busy bee indeed.


In other news;
I got an iPhone on Saturday, my contract was ready for upgrade and it turned out to be the best option. It's just a 3Gs as they're still asking crazy money for iPhone 4's but seriously, i have become Apple's bitch in a matter of days! It's just so handy and useful and cool! It has so far lead to me getting a Tumblr, Skype and a shitload of apps and in all honesty i don't think i'm halfway done.
One app i got straight away was the style.com one, i love how i can just spend my lunch hour flicking through all the latest fashion week stuffs picking out my favourites, i shared a buttload on tumblr but here's a couple i haven't posted:

More on Tumblr, i never really understood it before, i figured it was to Blogger what Twitter is to Facebook, but i didn't see the appeal. But now i think it was hand crafted for me.
I am a really visual person, i take photos and i see photos and colours and drawings and paintings all the time that i just love and want to shout about and i'm the same with songs and music videos and films and poems and quotes.
I generally just get quite fixated on small things, sometimes i save them up and do an inspiration bit on here but a lot of the time i just leave it and enjoy it alone, however i get no release from that so now i have a Tumblr i feel kinda satisfied.
It sounds stupid, i know. But i guess that's just how the cookie crumbles.

I've got a couple posts lined up. Some stuff on trends i'm laarrrrrvvveee-ing right now. Something with a bit of a summery vibe (rain is pissing me off yo) and hopefully some ootd's.
However i do have a long trip ahead of me tomorrow to an audition for a university and i won't be back until Thursday night so next post will probably be Saturday.
I promise i still got love for blogger and i'll be back on track before you know it.

Update

I haven't abandoned my blog. And i am alive.

I feel like a day without blogging is bad, so if you're a follower you may have noticed if two or three go by void of posting, i apologise profusely.

I am working a lot of extra hours at the moment because i need the money.
Being forced into a corner by The Man gets me down but money makes the world go round i guess : (


I also just started rehearsals for this years Pantomime.
It's Cinderella and I'm playing the deliciously evil Grizelda; Cinders' Step Mother.
I've never done panto before, so to be playing quite a big part in my first is daunting. Especially because it's what makes the most money for my theatre company so I'll be doing a lot of very packed out shows.
Add to that the fact i don't consider myself a singer or dancer and there's plenty of both to be done, I'm quite nervous.
So yeah, I'm currently practicing my scowls and frowns, highlighting my script and generally getting into character.

Being busy is hard but I'm also lacking inspiration right now.
Transitioning from Summer to Autumn is always hard on my fashion-y-ness. I have to learn how to dress myself all over again and often i can look like a homeless person because my layering skillzz are being re-honed.

All in all I'm busy and a fashion mess.
But fear not, i will recover. Probably after the clocks go back and i feel less tired all the time.
This wasn't meant to be a "Bum You Out" post, and I'm not depressed or anything, i just like to explain myself. I made a commitment to blogging when i started this and i don't like to do things if I'm not going to give it my all, no sir.
