Cold Snap

COAT:VINTAGE JEGGINGS:EVANS SHOES:PRIMARK

Managed to take a quick snap of myself before leaving to return to Worcester yesterday. It suddenly hit minus temperatures after a super mild Jan so it was out with the massive purple coat. I suppose my impractical shoes did nothing to keep me warm but for once i didn't feel like wearing docs!

Downtown

BLOUSE:ASOS CURVE JEANS:DOROTHY PERKINS SHOES:NEW LOOK

So this was my hittin' the town outfit on saturday night. I love that this top went on sale at ASOS, i would have been pretty annoyed at myself for spending it's full price because now i am a student bum, that's like, a weeks worth of food! Apologies for red eye, my editor doesn't really remove it too well!!! If someone wants to buy me photoshop, well that'd be lovely :)

Here's me and my babe Lauren, she's been featured on BMB many a time, 'cos she's fine

Dressed To Kill

T-SHIRT:HMV VEST, SCARF, HOODY:H&M JEGGINGS:NEW LOOK BOOTS:DR MARTENS
I LOVE BEING HOME! And it's quite sad, because a portion of that love is down to the space i have to blog in, it's so much better. This is almost everything i brought with me, i couldn't be arsed with lugging tons of stuff for a weekend so went with comfy/cool/casual items i could pair with the few bits of clothing i left here if needs be. I did bring some more dressy stuff though as i'm off out on the town later with my gorgeous babe of a friend.

I think i need to stop wearing this hoody and these boots. Have i reverted to my 14 year old self? I have been listening to a lot of Bowling For Soup and New Found Glory recently (see post title!).... Oh dear.
Maybe lectures staring up again next week will make me stop wearing the same things over and over!
Maybe.

You can't see it very well here but i'm wearing a new silver ring that my lovely Egyptian flatmate had made for me when she went home. In case she reads: thank-you boo!

I'm going to cry tomorrow when i have to leave my beautiful white, light room behind! : (

The Tide Is High

T-SHIRT:DOROTHY PERKINS TROUSERS:ASOS CURVE HOODY:H&M

The lighting in my room is so shocking all my pictures are rubbish at the moment, sry guyz :/ This is really a typical outfit for me at the moment. Sort of tomboy-ish? I dunno. I mean i spend 90% of my time living in my Dr. M's too and i think they have a more masculine edge. I actually really love this colour combination, the muted green/khaki with the dull burgundy of the hoody, it's all good :)

I'm seriously debating chopping all my hair off at the moment, it would just be easier and, well, easier. I've had it short before but i can't seem to get myself 100% that it's the right thing to do. It hasn't grown in a while and i'm very bored and the ends are in terrible condition from bleaching.
And what i'm really saying is: thoughts?? Let me know please!

Stormy Weather

TOP:FOREVER 21 SKIRT:PRIMARK HAT:ACCESSORIZE BELT:MARKET

This is my "summer on the bottom, winter up top" outfit. It's sunny but freezing so i consider it appropriate! I bought this hat in the sale yesterday, i'd not seen anyone wearing it before and then on the way home i saw 2 people wearing it, or one very similar, typical!
I don't have a very exciting day planned, i need to do laundry and take a photo for my project365 and then all that's left is packing for the re-enactment weekend ahead.
Because i have all this free time i am reading once again. This time it is Memoirs of a Geisha. Then i have 3 other books on the "To Read" pile and by the time i'm done i figure my semester 2 exams will have started, so i'm set really :)

Today Billie Holiday influenced the post title. Buuuut, i think i still love Etta James' version of Stormy Weather a little better...
I think.

Walking Down The Street

DRESS:DOROTHY PERKINS LEGGINGS:ASOS BOOTS:DR MARTEN

I basically went nuts in town today, shopping my face off. I don't have the money to be doing this but whatever, i was clearly in the mood. I really should have taken my photos before i went out though, hell yeah wind swept top knot.
Amongst the fashion-y stuff i got which shall be posted about i also bought two books, two DVDs and two CDs. I am currently listing to the wonder that is Patti Smith, hence the lyrical post title :)
I think it's the leggings that really make this outfit something a bit different and i actually think it could have done with a big statement necklace as well but i didn't have anything ideal, sad times.

I am currently dealing with a buttload of various stressy things like looking for a house to live in come September, it's certainly making blogging hard but i will prevail!!!!!

Pony Up

SHIRT:NEW LOOK SKIRT AND VEST:H&M TIGHTS:TESCO

I have spent the last week solidly wearing PJ's or joggers and tees. It's the curse of essay writing, you don't need to get dressed for it.
Today though, i actually had to get dressed, for my sanity.
I know this is basic and the photo quality isn't great but i love this shirt and i wanted to post so, yeah. Justification: done.

Due to money but also feeling quite uninspired i have bought barely any clothes recently. Has anyone seen anything amazing (and preferably cheap) anywhere? I just feel kinda bored by what i see. It's time like this when i resent being bigger because there's tons of stuff in straight sizes i like, but nothing my size is screaming at me.
Oh BOOO HOOOO!
Guess i should be grateful really, less clothes = less debt :)

2012

Well, first things first: Happy New Year!
As over done and cliched as it sounds i can't believe we're in 2012 already! It seems like just yesterday when it was the millennium and my life revolved around hair brades and watching rugrats...

I celebrated in style last night at one of my favourite pubs ever; The Old Firehouse in Exeter. If you're ever in the area pop in and have some delicious and huge stone baked pizza and a bottle of house wine (that between two would cost you £6.45 each, not bad eh!?!?). It was a vintage themed party so i decided to go all 1940's-y for the occasion, i thought there would be some hardcore fancy dress going on but there was only a handful who were obviously seriously committed :)

TOP:PRIMARK SKIRT:H&M BELT:ACCESSORIZE SHOES:NEW LOOK
I absolutely adore getting dressed up, especially when there's some kind of theme that gives me a reason to wear vintage make-up (not that i need a reason, it's just nice to have one!) I managed to pull this outfit together in a 3 hour rush around town on New Year's Eve, the top was a fiver, the shoes were £7 and i already owned the rest.
It pissed it down with rain as i left so i ended up wearing flat suede loafer type shoes and a fur coat to avoid turning into a big mess.

I got a bit carried away with editing and kept stumbling across effects i liked. I'm a bit of a vintage photo freak so i was trying to make these look like all the old photographs of my grandma i have :)

Back to talking about New Years. I had a lovely time with beautiful people and i've had a really nice, relaxed day today ao 2012 thus far, is filling 2011's big, BIG shoes quite well, but we are only 24 hours in so i'll try not to get to carried away.

I don't do resolutions but i have decided to keep a diary again for the whole of this year and i'm also doing a project365 to try and encourage some more self taught photography techniques!
I hope you all had an amazing NYE and i wish everyone all the luck and love and joy and peace for 2012, i know i'm excited for whatever it is that's next: Let The Good Times Roll!
